Sergey Chernyansky
Sergey Chernyansky has more than 20 years of active experience in environmental consulting, including environmental surveys, environmental monitoring, design of environmental protection measures and environmental impact assessment in accordance with Russian and international standards (ASTM, EP, IFC, EBRD, JBIC).
In total, Sergey has performed more than 300 various assessments and applied studies in many industries and countries. He graduated from the Department of Landscape Geochemistry and Soil Geography, Faculty of Geography, Lomonosov Moscow State University (1995), PhD in Geography, specialization in Biogeography and Soil Geography (1999).
Sergey combines consulting activities with scientific research in the area of soil science, geoarchaeology, geoecology, soil zoology, radioecology, and environmental protection. He is the author and co-author of about 100 scientific papers.
In 2019, Sergey Chernyansky was certified as a forensic expert in soil and geological environment conditions and studies, as well as in radiation safety in the environmental context.
Alyona Strokina
Alyona Strokina is the Company's leading social expert with more than the 20-year professional background in social consulting. She acts as a coordinator and team lead for international and local specialists involved in infrastructure projects of public and private clients, including projects funded by international financial institutions (IFIs) in various sectors (oil & gas and petrochemical industries, water supply and disposal, heat supply, solid waste management, agriculture, transportation, etc.).
Alyona Strokina carries out social risk and impact assessments, audits (social aspects), performs stakeholder research and plans stakeholder engagement activities, develops measures to mitigate negative social impacts of planned investment activities, and develops business recovery plans (BRPs) or resettlement action plans (RAPs).
Her expertise includes environmental and social requirements of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Investment Bank (EIB), International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Equator Principles, etc. Her work focuses on labor relations and working conditions, mitigation of adverse effects of collective dismissals, land acquisition and involuntary resettlement, and information disclosure. Olga Tertitskaya
Olga Tertitskaya has over 25 years of experience in environmental consulting. Prior to joining Environ Consult, she worked at Branan Environment, an environmental consulting company, and at the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Olga has a PhD in Geography and many years of diverse experience in environmental impact assessment for complying with national requirements and guidelines of international lenders (EBRD, IFC/World Bank, Equator Principles, ADB, etc.), environmental audits, environmental risk assessment, and Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) of various facilities (ASTM Phase I).
She participated in projects at the request of international banks, venture capital funds, and large international and Russian companies. Also, Olga conducted trainings for environmental consultants and banks.
Environmental audits conducted by Olga include enterprises in the automotive industry, oil & gas production, non-ferrous metals sector, pharmaceutical and food industries, pulp & paper mills, etc. Her project experience extends over a wide geographic range: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
Nikolay Nazarevsky
Nikolay Nazarevsky joined Environ Consult CIS in 2015. Prior to that he worked as a leading consultant and project manager at DIEM and Branan Environment where he conducted a large number of ESIAs and environmental audits in different regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan. and Serbia.
Nikolay provided consulting support to companies at various stages of investment projects in accordance with international (IFC, EBRD) and Russian standards.
In addition, he participated in the organization and delivery of training courses for specialists of Russian companies, in particular for financial intermediaries, arranged by the EBRD.
Polina Surikova
Polina Surikova has more than ten years of experience as an environmental and occupational health & safety consultant in Russia and CIS countries. She graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University with a specialist diploma in Physical Geography and Nature Management with a focus on assessment of man-caused impact on natural ecosystems.
Polina specializes in Environmental Due Diligence (ASTM Phase I and II), audits for compliance with legislative and other requirements in the area of environmental protection, occupational health & safety, as well as in environmental impact assessment in accordance with the requirements of international lending institutions (EBRD, IFC/World Bank, Equator Principles, ADB, etc.).
She conducted over 100 Environmental Due Diligence assessments and audits of industrial enterprises, commercial real estate and greenfield sites for compliance with environmental and health & safety requirements.
Polina participated in large environmental and social impact assessment projects in Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan as a consultant responsible for baseline studies and environmental impact assessment of waste management.
As an independent environmental and social consultant to lenders, she is involved in a number of internationally financed projects on project monitoring. She is NEBOSH certified and since 2015 she has been acting as an occupational health & safety coordinator for the Environ Consult office in Moscow.
Maria Petrasova
Maria Petrasova has over 18 years of experience in environmental consultancy in Russia and CIS countries.
Her competencies include pre-investment environmental assessment, audit and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) in accordance with national and international requirements (IFC, EBRD, Equator Principles).
Maria took part in a number of large ESIA projects in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus, including the development of the project's environmental and social standards document, and assessment of cumulative and transboundary impacts.
Maria supervises and participates in monitoring visits under some large investment projects to ensure compliance with environmental and social requirements of lenders. She is also well familiar with the principles of the integrated environmental and social management system and has considerable expertise in the analysis and review of legal requirements and best available technologies in the area of environmental protection for various industries.
Alexander Ryzhov
Alexander Ryzhov has more than 10-year scientific and practical experience in assessing environmental conditions of territories and man-caused impact.
At Environ Consult CIS, Alexander's specialty is geographic information systems, climate change and greenhouse gas emissions, and analysis of air, soil and land use impacts.
His work experience includes preparation of working geo-information systems for ESIAs and EDDs, review of project alternatives, identification and analysis of climate change risks (in particular risks of floods and calculation of greenhouse gas emissions) and air quality, and assessment of project's impact on soil.
Alexander is engaged in modeling of pollutant emission dispersion using the AERMOD methodology. Alexander graduated from the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University (major in Environmental Geochemistry) with an MSc degree in Ecology and Nature Management.

Sergey Goncharov has been working over 15 years on environmental and health & safety issues in infrastructure and industrial development projects in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.
His professional competencies cover environmental and social assessment and methodological support of projects in various sectors such as urban and regional development, industry and agriculture, including projects financed by international financial institution, e.g. EBRD, IFC, European Commission, ADB and others.
Sergey has extensive experience in auditing and consulting enterprises in environmental protection and occupational health & safety in the former Soviet Union, Asia, and Eastern Europe.
He expertise extends to environmental and occupational health & safety management, international green standards and best practice in sectors such as metals and mining, oil & gas, chemicals, municipal transport and aviation, water supply and wastewater treatment, heat supply, and agriculture.
Sergey is also well experienced in preparing recommendations for public environmental management and developing environmental requirements for civil engineering, construction supervision, environmental planning and budgeting, and stakeholder consultation.
Elena Mokrinskaya
Elena Mokrinskaya has extensive work experience in a wide range of interdisciplinary infrastructure projects in various sectors, including heat supply, water supply and disposal, transportation, agriculture, sports, etc.
She is well experienced in field research, including interviewing and surveying local communities and working with focus groups as part of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for various Category A infrastructure projects.
Currently, Elena focuses on social impact assessment, including human rights and gender aspects, engagement planning, information disclosure, and stakeholder and community consultations.
Project geography: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. She is knowledgeable of environmental and social requirements of IFIs such as EBRD, IFC, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and others. She conducts training on EBRD social requirements for projects, particularly as regards inclusion and gender equality.
Sergey Babushkin
Sergey Babushkin specializes in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) in accordance with Russian legislation and requirements of international financial institutions, as well as in EDD (ASTM phases I and II).
His competencies include field studies of soil and groundwater contamination at production sites, audits for compliance with national and corporate standards and developing management plans for industrial facilities, including accident and emergency prevention and response, and energy efficiency plans.
Prior to Environ Consult CIS, Sergey had experience of working at a pc-board manufacturing plant as a process engineer of the wastewater treatment site (engineering support of the site, preparation of process documentation, workflow management, and personnel training), hydrological studies at the Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, and field geological surveys.
Kirill Lukyanov
Kirill Lukyanov is an expert in environmental support and nature management with 5-year work experience in various projects in Russia, Europe, and Central Asia.
His professional expertise covers environmental support, environmental audits, environmental surveys and environmental and social impact assessment in various sectors of the economy, including large regional development projects, mining and heavy industry, utilities, agriculture, oil & gas sector, as well as projects funded by international financial institutions such as EBRD, IFC, European Commission, etc.
Geography of environmental survey projects within Russia: Novaya Zemlya, Khabarovsk Krai, Primorsky Krai, Zabaikalsky Krai, Leningrad Region, Norilsk.
Kirill has experience in preparing environmental reports as part of audits of projects in the former Soviet Union and in Europe. Also, he participated in the Federal Program "Revitalization of the Volga River" as a member of the research team at the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
