Environ Consult took part in the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

On September 25-26, 2024, the Ninth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was held in the historic city of Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan. This flagship event showcases the Bank's achievements and accumulates new ideas from its shareholders and stakeholders. It serves as a nexus for dialogues, bringing together Governors and delegates from AIIB Members with their partners and clients, business leaders, civil society organizations and experts from diverse fields across the globe.

The agenda included discussions and activities aimed at defining strategies and exchanging best practices and opportunities to develop resilient infrastructure and drive positive impact on a global scale. The participants represented the international financial institutions (World Bank, AIIB, EBRD, IsDB, EADB, GIF), public organizations (UNDP, UNESCO, Vital Strategies APAC, Global Green Growth Institute, Copenhagen Climate Center, etc.), business corporations (ACWA Power, Masdar, BYD), ministries of member states, such as the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Environ Consult Director, Mr. Alexander Schastnev, took part in the open plenary and discussion sessions of the forum. During these sessions he raised the issue of environmental and social risk management of large infrastructure projects and shared our company’s experience in providing consulting support for such projects in Central Asia countries.
